ABOUT
Samantha Carey Interiors is an award-winning Boston-based residential design studio known for creating calm, curated homes rooted in clarity, craftsmanship, and a meaningful sense of place. Founded by designer Samantha Arak, the firm serves clients across New England and has been featured in Real Simple, The Boston Globe Magazine, Northshore Home, and Business of Home. Samantha’s work earned IFDA New England’s 2024 Best Transitional Kitchen, and she is a member of ASID.
Samantha blends refined New England tradition with modern warmth, designing homes that balance clean lines, thoughtful color, and layered textures to feel personal, functional, and deeply lived-in. Her values—nonnegotiable integrity, solutions-oriented thinking, and a grounded, collaborative approach—guide every project.
Her design perspective is shaped by the strengths of the family who raised her—and the rare privilege of growing up with three great-grandparents through her early high school years. The DIY grit of her mother, an appreciation of tradition and hours spent sewing with her grandmother, the utilitarian practicality of her grandfather, and her great-grandfather’s craft in furniture restoration continue to influence her commitment to quality and storytelling through design.
A distance runner (yes, Marathon Monday is her favorite day of the year), lululemon ambassador, and longtime power vinyasa yoga teacher in Boston, Samantha brings discipline, balance, and an appreciation for spaciousness and flow to her work. She holds a Master of Public Health in Communications and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Tufts University.
Samantha lives in West Medford with her husband, two boys, and their rescue dog, Fetch. She continues to draw inspiration from the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine, where she grew up spending barefoot summers and now shares that same tradition with her children.
